Montecito Villa
Set high in the hills of Montecito with a commanding view, this house was meant from the beginning to resemble an Italian villa as much as possible. Because of its noticeability, the lot came with rigorous constraints: a tight building envelope and very low height limits. These were addressed with high ceilings, all very different, a plethora of incredibly rich finishes and endless detailing. During the design and construction, the owners took many extended trips to Italy, bringing back countless photos of favorite details and crates of fireplace surrounds, statues, lighting fixtures, and other furnishings.
